Replacing Your Battery

Toyota Key Fob is one of the most valuable and convenient pieces of automotive equipment. But if you happen to need to replace it, make sure you know exactly what you’re doing, because replacing the old battery with the new one can sometimes be tricky.

To begin, disconnect the battery from your vehicle by taking off the key. Replace the battery in the same manner as the original one. This means you should either disconnect it through the console or in the parking brake system.

Next, disconnect the negative cable from your ignition or your Key Fobs. Remove the plastic cover of the battery with the help of a screwdriver and put the battery back in place.

After that, connect the negative cable of the Key Fobs to the positive cable provided on your battery. If the battery is in the left-hand side of your vehicle, insert the positive cable to the right side. Once done, plug the positive cable of the Key Fobs to the negative battery outlet.

Finally, plug the positive cable of the Toyota Car Battery to the positive cable provided on your battery. Turn on your ignition and observe the light on your dashboard go from green to blue. Then, check the power switch. Make sure that it is switched on. Now, put your Key Fobs back in place.

If none of the above is working, consult your Key Fobs manual or consult a professional electrician. But once your Key Fobs are working properly again, start your vehicle’s engine. You’ll be glad you did it. Just like the original battery, a new Toyota Car Battery should last up to two years if cared for correctly.

However, before you do that, there are some very important things to take care of first. Make sure you have all the accessories and tools ready for the job ahead. Read the manual before attempting anything.

To prevent your battery’s terminal from getting corroded, clean it with water or a battery charger. Also, you need to charge your battery at least once a week. Make sure you have enough charge left so you won’t have to buy a new one.

To prevent your battery from getting hot, store it in a cool and dry place. Do not use direct sunlight for at all times. It is also wise to store it away from heat sources like radiators, furnaces, ovens, microwave ovens and stoves. In case your battery does get too warm, wrap it in a towel or wrap it in some plastic to avoid being damaged.
